Natural binding and coating oil for oil-based varnishes, paints and corrosion protection.

Application

Refined linseed oil (also known as linseed oil) is mainly used for painting or for the production of oil-based paints and varnishes. More durable varnishes can be produced which, in contrast to other types and formulations of varnish, have little tendency to crack and are highly resistant to weathering. Refined linseed oil (linseed oil) is also used for the preservation of wood and in the field of building protection for preservation in general. Linseed oil is also used to protect cast metal against corrosion by means of so-called stoving.

Synonym: Lini oleum, Lini oleum virginale Ph. Eur.
